Softec, the Central Coast’s premier software and technology association, invites you to bring your kids and grandkids to explore the 8th Annual Student Robotics EXPO. The event and parking are free. All ages are welcome to discover and participate.

The event will be on Monday, September 26 from 6-8pm at the Madonna Inn Expo Center in San Luis Obispo with an anticipated 700 to 800 attendees.

This spectacular event features local high school, junior high, and elementary robotics teams. Educational leagues include – F.I.R.S.T, First Lego League, VEX, Arduino, M.A.T.E (Submersibles), and Drones!

Meet local robotics companies, Cal Poly robotics teams and robotics enthusiasts to see their innovative technology up close!

We’ll have a new drone arena which contains a drone obstacle course sponsored by Norcast. All are welcome to bring their personal drones and participate. We’ll also have underwater robots in a portable pool  set up by Cal Fire Station 21, interactive stations for hands on experience with robots and the SLO County Sheriff Bomb Squad robotics demonstrations.

We have partnered with PG & E’s new FIRST Robotics Partnership as our title sponsor. Thanks to all of our generous corporate sponsors, we will be distributing over $7,000 in scholarships to student clubs at the event. Softec has sponsored high school robotics teams since 2004 giving more than $32,000 of grants to date. We strongly believe that this event helps excite young minds about the technology industry.

Come hungry!  We’ll have Rib Line deep pit bbq and two gourmet food trucks parked at the main entrance to The Madonna Inn Expo Center during the event.  The Pairing Knife and What The Truck! by Central Coast Brewing. Food service will begin at 5:30pm. We’ll also have gourmet hot or iced coffee and ice tea from Coastal Peaks Coffee for $1 cup. A portion of the proceeds from food and beverage service will fund the scholarships.
