This group is to support the Maker’s in our community and the initiative to create a Maker’s Space in SLO. For those not aware of the Maker Community learn more about this international movement here.
The maker culture is a technology-based extension of the DIY culture. Typical interests enjoyed by the maker culture include engineering-oriented pursuits such as electronics, robotics, 3-D printing, CNC tools and more traditional activities such as metalworking, woodworking, and arts and crafts. The culture encourages invention and prototyping with a strong focus on using and learning practical skills and applying them creatively.
